This past weekend, Sam enjoyed a rare kid-free weekend getaway. Pop Pop came down to stay with the kids while we travelled to Birmingham, Alabama for Adam Guthrie's wedding. Sam was a part of the Sabre Arch or sword ceremony in the wedding. Sam had never done this before, but was able to practice before the ceremony, and did really well. We really enjoyed Adam and Valerie's beautiful wedding and had a chance to visit a city that neither Sam or I had been to before. We saw the city from the Vulcan monument (pictured above). We also got to sleep in two mornings in a row! I had completely forgotten what sleeping in was until this weekend! It was also nice to see Sam in uniform again! Congratulations to Adam and Valerie!
