Today we took off up I-85 to Charlotte, NC. Our dear friend, Carlos, had been in North Carolina for the past couple of weeks to take a class for the Marines, so we decided that we would drive halfway and meet up in Charlotte for the day. It was great to be able to see him again and have some fun together, although unfortunately Karen and the kids were still in California. We sure missed them, especially too since it was Mateo's 4th birthday today! So, we decided to have a little "east coast" party for Mateo and ate birthday cupcakes, although Sydney couldn't quite understand why Mateo couldn't be at his own party! We found a great outlet mall in Charlotte - great because I enjoyed the shopping and because there was a Dave & Busters there to play at too. The day passed by much too quickly and it seemed like we were saying our farewells only minutes after our hellos, but we're definitely looking forward to the next time we'll see the Crespos - hopefully the whole family next time!
