Today was a day that Sydney had been looking forward to for several weeks now. For her birthday, we gave her tickets to Dora the Explorer Live and today was the day of the show! We made the day Sydney's "special day" so she got to make all important decisions such as what I would make for breakfast (pancakes - no surprise there!) and where we would go out for dinner after the show. And, of course, even though we told her she could pick any place, she chose "Old McDonalds"! Although, that was a tough decision between McDonalds and Chick-Fil-A!! We got a babysitter for Jonah and headed downtown to the Fox Theatre. She was so thrilled to be wearing "everything Dora" too!!
The show was great. Sydney was completely captivated and we noticed that she was trying so hard to take it all in - every word spoke and every note sung in every scene! She's been reciting the lines ever since and has told me several times, that she wants to go to the Dora show again. The most precious moment happened just before the show started. She turned to me and said that she wanted to make a wish. Then she closed her eyes and said, "I wish we could stay at the Dora show forever!" It really was a special day for her!!
