Monday is Dr Seuss' birthday, so to celebrate a few libraries in our county had a special story time and a Cat in the Hat meet and greet this weekend. The librarian read a couple of Dr Seuss stories with the kids and then, after a joyous rendition of Happy Birthday, the Cat in the Hat appeared to a very excited audience. As I've said before, Sydney is always thrilled to see any mascot, character or costumed thing, so the Cat in the Hat was no exception! It was her idea to bring her own camera so that she could take his picture, which she did! She's never shy, so ran right up to hug him and gave him a high five. Since she enjoyed the outing so much, Sam took her to another library the next day so she could see him again, and it was a great rainy day outing for Daddy and the kids!
